Habitat for Humanity International puts God’s love into action by bringing people together to build homes, communities and hope through approximately 1,400 local affiliates in the United States and more than 70 national organizations around the world.
Aligned Influence was literally born out of our founder’s experience as a member of the Board of Directors of a local Habitat for Humanity Affiliate in United States and his desire to help organizations like Habitat for Humanity be as effective as possible in their work.

Every Habitat Affiliate operates at least two and in many cases three unique businesses, construction, mortgage and retail, through mostly volunteer staff and a relatively small paid staff. Each Affiliate maintains a separate 501c non-profit status and must maintain affiliate status with Habitat for Humanity International. In other words, just understanding organizational development or board governance, is not enough… consultants that are successful working with Habitat for Humanity affiliates must speak “Habitat”. Aligned Influence consultants are fluent in Habitat. In fact, most Aligned Influence consultants who are assigned to work with affiliates have experience as a former Board member or Executive Director of an affiliate.
Aligned Influence Consulting provides a simple but yet innovative framework for defining and aligning the roles of the Board of Directors and the Executive Director that encompasses the governance and operations of the affiliate.
